The Power of Commitment

Whenever I begin to waver in my yoga practice or any practice that is for the purpose of care, growth or expansion, I pull out this quote to remind myself of the importance AND power of commitment.  Yes, I said it... the dreaded "C" word (or at least one of them! 😉 )

What does it mean to truly commit to something?  It certainly goes beyond making a decision or choice... it carries much more "weight" than that.  In fact according to Goethe, once we fully commit ourselves, "then Providence moves too."

And that's something that I can certainly attest to... and perhaps you too have had this experience?  You know the one... where once you set you mind to something, you simply DO IT almost as if by magic... not ifs, ands or buts!  Where the perfect people, or circumstances or conditions appeared as if out of nowhere to support your endeavor!

Goethe Quote_Commitment
"All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred.  A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would come his way."
Why does that happen?  There's a powerful vibrational force behind the mental and emotional act of commitment that is fueled by our hearts.  True commitment comes, not from the mind, but from the heart.  And as we know, the energy of the heart is very powerful!
So regardless of any doubts, or fears, or laziness, or whatever uncomfortable thoughts and emotions may present themselves while we work toward our personal and spiritual goals, I invite you to PAUSE, take a nice FULL BREATH and once again FEEL the heart-based reason behind your goal, vision, intention, practice, etc.
Then once again, BEGIN IT... just take that next step.. and Providence will follow your lead.  🙂
